After many years of search, the only surviving copy of a collection of sermons with a chronicle (965– 1618), which was printed and published in Leipzig in 1619 by Wolfgang Silber, the parson from Greiffenberg, Lower Silesia, was discovered in 2016, within the international programme “The Silesian Cultural Heritage.” The first part of the article includes information on the life and creation of the sermon’s author and presents the historical and cultural background of the book, with references to the municipality and the church. Termin „sztuka potrydencka” używany jest w odniesieniu do powstającej po Soborze Trydenckim (1545-1563) sztuki sakralnej. Sztuka religijna XVI i XVII wieku włączyła się w działania związane z kontrreformacją, broniąc dogmatów Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego i polemizując z protestantami. W artykule podjęto ważne pytania: Dlaczego dzieła El Greco można zaliczyć do tzw. „przedstawień kontrreformacyjnych”? Jakie tematy i w jaki sposób poruszane tematy przemawiały na rzecz wiary głoszonej przez Kościół rzymskokatolicki? Na ile sam El Greco miał świadomość, że przez swoje arcydzieła bronił, uzasadniał i potwierdzał nauczanie tego Kościoła?

Il consenso stabilito è che Calvino abbia avuto un ruolo da protagonista nell'adozione della Confessione da parte dei pastori riuniti a Parigi. To many readers of Orlando Furioso, Ariosto appears to be essentially disinterested in religious matters, a poet who thinks religion and morality should be kept away from literary creation. Abstract This article analyses excerpts from letters sent by French Reformed congregations and politically-engaged Calvinist laymen in 1562. In these dispatches, the churches, lay notables, and local magistrates of Montpellier, Grenoble, Gap, Nîmes, Issoire and Rouen requested pastors to Geneva or thanked the town’s authorities for ministers previously sent there. However, these six letters were not addressed to the Venerable Company of Pastors, but specifically to the syndics and Small Council of Geneva.
